The new Church Website is imaginative, relative to Community and Church life and very interesting.
Could I make a suggestion that you include something which explains how to leave a comment. It took me quite a while to work it out. I’m not the most computer literate person.
Thank-you and Congratulations on the new website.

Thank you for your comments on the new website, Ann. We are grateful for your feedback.

Websites such as this are continually developing and we are always looking for new ways to improve things.

For those of you who are new to ‘blogging’, click on the title of the blog post from the blog ‘homepage’, this will allow all visitors to the site to read posts to the blog entry and with a handy reply box at the bottom of the page.

To help those of you new to ‘blogging’, tere is a handy ‘FAQ’ site on the Word Press Blog website. Visit it from the following link:

    Dear Daniel

Thank-you for replying.I read the link you posted. I am ashamed to say I am not that much wiser. When you have only ’semi ;iterate’ computer users it’s a bit like giving someone learning to read a 100 page book with incomprehensible words to start on!
I still think the site is most interesting.
I have absolutely no idea how to post a new blog topic, that’s if the readers are allowed to do so.
The bottom line is I need things spelt out in very very simple language. The information on your link was excellent I am sure but made me feel quite dizzy.
Maybe you could post a blog written for those of us who are rather obtuse. PLEASE tell me I’m not alone in that state!!

I really enjoyed exploring this new site for the first time. I’ve been really conscious of a lot of reportage recently about the dangers of young people using social networking unsupervised and, for myself, I often find a lot of the unsolicited spams I pile up in my inbox as very intrusive and, on occasion, almost offensive. The result of using the church’s website however was completely the opposite, as it feels now almost as if I’m inviting a special friend into the privacy of my home and it’s lovely to read comments from people I’m sure I see most Sundays (although I’m notoriously the world’s worst at putting names to faces!)

Hurrah for Fakenham church for stepping so boldly into the 21st century with this new website!

I’ve already been told off by the wife for spending far too long online this evening, all thanks to the wonderful depth of content that I’m slowly sifting through on the new website.

This ‘blog’ thing is new to me, but I can already see the benefits for the community already having read through the comments of others who have contributed so far.

Get more people on here and let’s get talking about the things that matter to us! Well done to all for their sterling efforts so far on working through this new website. Looking forward to more to come.

    Mal Eddington.

PS - I think the photo (indeed all are excellent) at the top of the pages is superb! Gives a very human face to the church. Well done.

Howard, there are many good ISP providers who ensure that the Spam doesn’t get into your actual mailbox. Perhaps Daniel would advise you.
We use Eclipse, who won an award for it’s anti spam filtering.

This link would tell you more if you’re interested.
We used to be plagued by spam, some of it very obscene, but not any more.

I think you have a wonderful website. I’m using it to encourage my PCC to follow your excellent example and do more to support our community and outreach through using the internet. Well done. Sue Salter.
